HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss junior outside hitter Duquesne Moratzka has been named to Conference USA's Second Team, as announced by the league Wednesday.
Moratzka led the team in kills (236 and 3.42 per set), which ranked eighth in C-USA. She also added eight service aces and 34 blocks. Moratzka had a nine-match streak of double-digit kills within league play, and in a Jan. 29 doubleheader with Southeastern Louisiana had 33 kills for a .272 hitting percentage, 13 digs and 12 blocks to also earn C-USA Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
The Cheyenne, Wyo., native started 19 matches for Idaho State as a sophomore, where she also earned a Big Sky Conference defensive weekly honor.
The Golden Eagles improved by six matches in the win column this year. Moratzka is the team's first C-USA postseason honoree since Sarah Bell, Alexis Coombs and Kylie Grandy in 2018.
