Todd Earns Conference USA Male Field Athlete of the Week Nod

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss high jumper Corvell Todd had no problem transitioning from indoor season to outdoor season as he captured another event title this past weekend at the Al Schmidt Bulldog Relays en route to being named C-USA Male Field Athlete of the Week.
"Corvell started the outdoor season with a jump that will qualify him for NCAA Regionals," head coach Jon Stuart said. "Now, we can start preparing for the postseason. He's very driven and his finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships has only motivated him more for the outdoor season.
Fresh off a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championship, the Byhalia, Miss. native took gold after clearing 7'1.75" in his first outdoor meet as a Golden Eagle.
For Todd, it marks his third time being recognized by the conference in his first year with the Black and Gold, as he was also named Athlete of the Week twice during the indoor season. He currently sits first in C-USA, fifth in the nation and fourth in Southern Miss outdoor history.
