"South Alabama was a very talented, veteran club," said head coach Jay Ladner. "We were fighting sickness and injuries on our side, but that is no excuse. We got punched in the mouth early and were on our heels from the start."

The Golden Eagles turned the ball over four times in that stretch and were bailed out by a Tyler Stevenson offensive rebound where Isaih Moore eventually found the scoring column.
