Beach Volleyball Heads to Gulf Shores for Fall Tournament

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss beach volleyball program heads to Gulf Shores, Ala. to participate in a tournament hosted by Rally Volleyball on Oct. 30. The Golden Eagles will face off against four Division I teams in preparation for the spring season.
Southern Miss will take on the Florida State Seminoles, LSU Tigers, Tulane Green Wave and Spring Hill College Badgers. The Golden Eagles are set to participate in two tournaments hosted by Rally, with the second taking place next weekend in Huntsville, Ala.Â
Head coach Shawn Taylor's roster features nine returning athletes and nine newcomers for the 2021 fall season. The Golden Eagles previously hosted the Southern Miss Fall Tournament which saw Southeastern, Spring Hill College and Tulane travel to Hattiesburg for exhibition matches.
Conference USA announced earlier this month that it would add beach volleyball as a sponsored sport, with Southern Miss as one of the founding programs. Southern Miss will prepare for the first season in its new conference throughout the fall.Â
