Lady Eagles Continue C-USA Play At Middle Tennessee

HATTIESBURG, Miss. –The Southern Miss women's basketball team will look to get back in the win column at Middle Tennessee. Tip-off is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m. from the Murphy Center.
The voice of the Lady Eagles, Jason Baker, will have the game on the Southern Miss Radio Network, broadcast on 92.7 the Score and presented by Learfield IMG College.
Scouting the Lady Raiders
• Head Coach Rick Insell is in his 16th season at the helm of the Lady Raiders.
• Middle Tennessee women's basketball is one of five Division I programs nationally where a son or daughter works as an assistant to their father/mother.
• Middle was picked to win the conference in the annual preseason poll. Junior standout Anastasia Hayes was selected as C-USA CoPreseason Player of the Year
• Hayes enters the series as the nation's leading scorer at 28.6 ppg and has 22-plus points in all nine games.
• MT ranks 11th nationally and first in C-USA for 3-point field goals per game with 10.1 per outing and 16th nationally for 3-point field goals made with 91.
Scouting the Lady Eagles
• Through the first six games, Southern Miss has changed its starting lineup in five of six. Ten of 13 players on the roster have made a start for the Lady Eagles.
• The Lady Eagles are the only team in C-USA to have three freshman averaging over 5.0 points a game.
• Imani Carter has laid her body on the line for her team during the first six games of the season taking 12 charges, which is more than all other players combined.
• Brikayla Gray and Melyia Grayson are both shining in their debut season with the Lady Eagles. Gray and Grayson are the two top scorers for the Golden Eagles averaging 20.3 PPG combined.
