Dear Softball,
Thank you for all of the memories, friendships, and laughs. You have taught me countless life lessons and sculpted my character in ways that I cannot explain. Without you, I would not be the person that I am today. Softball has been a big part of my life since I began playing at the age of five and I am so grateful for the opportunities that have come with it. I will cherish all of the moments that you have given me for the rest of my life.
My softball career began on a diamond at Propst Park in Columbus, Miss. years ago and ended on the diamond at the Southern Miss Softball Complex, with a lot of stops in between. From the youth level to junior high to high school to JUCO to DII, and ultimately DI, I am beyond grateful for all of the opportunities that you have given me to represent my home state and play in front of my family and friends throughout my entire career. Thank you for allowing me to help create a path for other girls in this state with collegiate playing dreams like me to follow.
Because of you, I had the experience of winning state titles at both the high school and JUCO levels, to be named an All-American, win multiple accolades, meet a lot of people, see and do a lot of things, and travel to a lot of places. You also brought me some of the best friends that I could ever ask for. I could never repay you for all of the joy that you have brought me the last 17 years. You have allowed me to accomplish far more than I ever imagined.
Also, thank you Southern Miss for allowing me to live out my dream of competing at the highest level of college softball in the state that truly built my career. Being a kid from Mantee, Miss., it was an honor to wear the Black and Gold the past two years. I am proud to be a Golden Eagle. SMTTT!
