Volleyball Adds Four to 2020 Recruiting Class

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Head Women's Volleyball Coach Stephanie Radecki has announced the addition of four signees to the Golden Eagles' 2020 recruiting class. The Golden Eagles recently signed Duquesne Moratzka (Idaho State), Nyanuer Bidit (New Mexico Military Institue), Aliah Giroux (Cornerstone Christian School), and Lauren Talbert (Presbyterian).
After announcing the additions of Sierra Bolen (UIC), Kenzie Smith (Kansas State), and Maddie Stayer (Mentor High School) in early January, Radecki's 2020 class is at seven.
"This spring has been challenging for everyone," Radecki said. "We are certainly ready for something to look forward to and can't wait to get back together to train once our administration feels it is safe."

Duquesne Moratzka (Jr., 6-1, OH, Cheyenne, Wyo. / Idaho State)
A junior transfer from Idaho State, Moratzka adds a big arm on the outside for the Golden Eagles. The Wyoming native was fifth on the Bengals with 189 kills her sophomore campaign. Against Southern Utah on Sept. 26, Moratzka dished out a career-high 18 kills to go along with a .471 hitting clip. During her time at Idaho State, Moratzka totaled 230 kills, 56 blocks, and 270 digs. She nabbed Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week honors once.

"We feel that Duquesne will make an immediate impact on our program. She has 2 years of experience as a 6 rotation pin hitter at a successful program. She is long and has a high contact point, is a primary passer and she has a great shot selection."
Aliah Giroux (Fr., 5-7, DS/L, San Antonio, Texas / Cornerstone Christian School)
Giroux, a 5-foot-7 defensive specialist/libero, played high school volleyball at Cornerstone Christian and club volleyball for Alamo Premier. For the Warriors, Giroux was a two-time 6A Honorable Mention All-District selectee. As a junior, Giroux tallied 35 kills, 22 aces, and 59 digs. In her senior campaign, the San Antonio, Texas native registered 43 kills, 134 digs, and another 22 aces. Giroux also competed in track.

Nyanuer Bidit (Jr., 5-10, RS, Anchorage, Ak. / New Mexico Military Institute)
A junior transfer from New Mexico Military Institute, Bidit brings a well-rounded skill set to the Golden Eagles. The Alaska native tallied 114 kills and 57 blocks in her two seasons with the Lady Broncos. During her sophomore campaign, Bidit tallied a career-best 76 kills and 37 blocks. The 5-foot-10 outside hitter assisted the Lady Broncos to a 37-5 mark en route to being ranked ninth in the final 2019 NJCAA DI polls.Alaska ✈️ New Mexico ✈️ Mississippi

"We are excited to add Nyanuer to our program. She is a dynamic, versatile hitter that has experience at the pin and middle. Nyanuer comes to us from a disciplined, focused, intense, and successful junior college program. "
Lauren Talbert (Jr., 5-11, OH, Hampton, Ga. / Presbyterian)
After spending her first two seasons at Presbyterian, Talbert adds valuable DI experience to the Golden Eagles. In her sophomore campaign, Talbert ranked third on the Blue Hose and tied for seventh in the Big South with 266 kills. The Hampton, Ga. native added 245 digs and 26 aces. The 5-foot-11 outside hitter tallied double-digit kills on 12 occasions, including a career-high 19 kills against North Carolina Central. Talbert has registered 447 kills and 475 digs in her collegiate career.Commited ✔️
