HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Coach McNelis and the staff of Lady Eagles Basketball have announced the schedule for the 2019-2020 season of Southern Miss women's basketball.
The schedule features 15 home games, seven of which are Conference USA matchups.
Southern Miss' 44th season of women's basketball will officially kick off with Education Day against William Carey on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 11 am.
The Lady Eagle Thanksgiving Classic will be held for the 32nd time, featuring Mississippi Valley State, Omaha, and VCU as the competitors. The Lady Eagles will not face Omaha, but will face VCU for the first time since 1999 and the first time at home since 1995.
The Lady Eagles will host Ole Miss for the first time since 2015, and will welcome Southeastern Louisiana, Tulane, South Alabama and Faulkner University to their home court as well for non-conference play. This will be the first meeting for Faulkner and Southern Miss women's basketball.
Southern Miss will travel to Old Dominion for the first time in three seasons, and will play the second game of the regular season in Starkville versus Mississippi State. The Lady Eagles will also make trips to Louisiana-Monroe and Houston for the non-conference slate, and then to North Texas, Rice, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Florida Atlantic, FIU, and LA Tech for Conference play.
There are four unscheduled games that will be played within Conference USA at the end of the regular season prior to the Conference Championships, with matchups, locations and dates to be announced at a later date.
