Jack Abraham Named a Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Candidate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- With less than two weeks to go until the season opener, Southern Miss redshirt-junior quarterback Jack Abraham has been named a candidate for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.
The award is presented annually to the top senior or fourth-year junior quarterback set to graduate with their class by the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation.
Abraham, a native of Oxford, Miss., earned the starting nod prior to last season and turned out to be one of the most accurate passers in the nation. He finished 223-of-305 (73.1 percent) for 15 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, while leading the nation in completion percentage. He was No. 4 in completions per game (22) and ranked third by Pro Football Focus with a 79.3 percent adjusted completion rate.Â
Southern Miss will kick off the 2019 slate on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. versus Alcorn State. Single-game and season tickets are on sale via SouthernMissTickets.com, calling 1-800-844-TICK, or visiting the Pat Ferlise Center during normal business hours.
