AZUSA, Cali. – The distance runners of Southern Miss track and field ran well in California in the Bryan Clay Invitational. The rest of the track team looks forward to the start of the LSU Alumni Gold meet at LSU.

Monika Gebarzewska ran the 3000m Steeplechase in Azusa, finishing 35th but finishing with a season-best and personal-best time of 10:54.21. Her time also places No. 5 on the all-time list at Southern Miss.

Lina May and Emma Kate Holdbrooks ran the 5000m. In their heat, May finished in the No. 9 slot at 17:31:91 and Holdbrooks finished at No. 22 at 17:52.70.

In day two of the meet, Sandra Szpott and Regen McGee ran in the 1500m. Szpott finished at 4:26.32, McGee at 4:40.24. Szpott's time is now third all-time at Southern Miss, a personal-best and a season-best for the junior.
