The Golden Eagles hosted their first home meet of the season.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Golden Eagles of Southern Miss track & field held their first home meet of the season in the Southern Miss Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Marshall Bell Track Complex. Southern Miss came away with multiple first-place finishes and had a good crowd on hand for all the action.
The Breakdown
First Place – 10 women, 5 men
2 Wins – Danisha Jones, Marquasha Myers, Caleb Parker.
Women's Results
100m Dash – Keiyana Gaskin came in first with a time of 11.80. Kadaria Thompson came in fourth at 12:09. Shundoria Hardy finished in 13th with a time of 12.37.
200m Dash – Shundoria Hardy came in 9th at 26.14.
400m Dash – Chenelle Ricketts finished in sixth at 55.78. Rian Robinson was right behind in seventh, finishing at 56.01. Aireanna Taylor came in at 57.96 in 13th place. Ola Akinniyi was 16th, finishing in 59.29.
800m Run – Sandra Szpott lands a first-place finish after crossing the line in 2:11.42. Regen McGee finishes in third with a time of 2:15.66.
1500m Run – Theresa Harto takes the win with a first-place finish in both her heat and overall after finishing in 4:42.80. Lina May comes in second at 4:43.27. Emma Kate Holdbrooks finishes in 4:49.78 in fourth place. Victoria Hoppe comes in seventh with a time of 5:01.91.
5000m Run – Savannah McMillon came in at 18:54.24 to finish in first-place. Madeleine Bell came in second at 19:27.28.
100m Hurdles – Jasmine Griffin had the win at 14.36, coming in first place. Marquasha Myers finished in third at 15.49.
4x100m Relay – The Southern Miss squad of Jasmine Griffin, Kadaria Thompson, Chenelle Ricketts and Keiyana Gaskin came in first in their relay with a time of 46.54.
4x400m Relay – Relay team of Regen McGee, Sandra Szpott, Savannah McMillon, and Monika Gebarzewska placed third with a time of 4:05.37.
High Jump – After tying at 1.65m, Zaria Jones won the tiebreaker with a jump of 1.68m to come in first place. Callie Jones finished fourth with a height of 1.55m.
Long Jump – Marquasha Myers finished in first place with a distance of 5.62m. Grace Parker came in fifth at 5.18m.
Triple Jump – Marquasha Myers did it again, finishing in first place at 12.22m.
Shot Put – Danisha Jones finished in fifth-place at 12.81m.
Discus – Danisha Jones finished in first-place with a throw of 48.74m.
Hammer – Danisha Jones gained another first-place finish with a throw of 55.22m. McKenna Mumaw came in fifth at 45.17m.
Men's Results
100m Dash – McKinely West came away with the win after a first-place finish of 10.34. In 11th place was Elijah Burton, who finished in 11.03.
200m Dash – Elijah Burton finished in 15th place after a 22.59 finish.
400m Dash – Trey Johnson secured the win, taking first place in 46.35.
110m Hurdles – Caleb Parker won his heat and the race after finishing in 14.17. Christian Strong finished in seventh at 14.79, and Tamrin Hobbs finished in 15.00, coming in eighth. Keionis Spears came in 14th with a time of 15.96.
400m Hurdles – Mamadou Seck finished in 54.48, coming in fifth. Tamrin Hobbs came in eighth at 56.06. Dexter Molden finished in 18th with a time of 1:04.81.
High Jump – Caleb Parker continued his winning ways, finishing first with a jump of 2.08m.
Long Jump – Eric Washington finished in first with a jump of 7.41m. Chedlin Sagesse tied for eighth at 6.68m. In 18th was Davonta Brassell at 6.12m.
Triple Jump – In second place was Devonta Brassell with a jump of 14.59m.

The Golden Eagles will next head to Alabama to the Auburn Classic on April 5-6.
