Punter Zac Everett Named C-USA Special Teams Player of the Week

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss junior punter Zac Everett (Saraland, Ala.) earned the Conference USA Special Teams Player of the Week honor, Monday, following the Golden Eagles' 36-17 victory at UTSA.
Everett provided a boost in the field position aspect of the game for Southern Miss in the win at UTSA, averaging 46.5 yards per kick over six punts. All six of his punts went for 40 or more yards and three landed 50 or better, including a season-best 56-yarder.
Four of Everett's punts pinned the Roadrunners inside their 20-yard line. The net punt average was 46.0 yards, as UTSA managed four returns for only three yards.
This the first honor for Everett this season and first for his career. It is the fourth special teams award for the Golden Eagles this season, the most since producing four during the 2011 campaign.
Rice junior WR Brad Rozner earned C-USA Offensive Player of the Week, while Marshall junior LB Tavante Beckett collected the C-USA Defensive Player of the Week nod.
C-USA Football Players of the Week are voted on by a panel of the league's media. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Top of the World Headwear.
The Golden Eagles (7-3 overall, 5-1 C-USA) return to action this weekend when they play host to WKU at 2:30 p.m., in the final regular-season home contest for the squad.
