Jack Abraham Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District® Football Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss junior quarterback Jack Abraham (Oxford, Miss.) earned CoSIDA Academic All-District® 6 honors in a release today by the organization and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Abraham, who holds a 3.92 grade point average in Liberal Studies who plans to attend dental school after his undergraduate days, has led the Golden Eagles to a 6-3 record this season on the strength of 2,634 passing yards on 195-of-278 attempts for a 70.1 completion percentage. He has thrown for 15 touchdowns, while allowed nine interceptions.
Abraham has thrown for over 200 yards in a seven of nine games this season and hurled at least on touchdown pass in eight games.
The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
The Golden Eagles return to action this Saturday, Nov. 16, when they take on UTSA in San Antonio, Texas. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
