Southern Miss' Match Against Stephen F. Austin Results in a Cancelled Contest

The match was called in the second period after a lengthy lightening delay
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – After originally being ruled as a 0-0 draw, the Golden Eagles' road match against the Ladyjacks of Stephen F. Austin on Friday night was later ruled as a cancelled contest after further review on Saturday morning.
The match was called off early in the second period of play due to persistent lightning in the area and unplayable field conditions. The match was later ruled as a cancelled contest upon further review due to the length of the match. Per NCAA rules, a match must be played a minimum of 70 minutes in order to be ruled as a final result. Southern Miss and Stephen F. Austin played a total of 48 minutes in their contest on Friday night, thus resulting in a cancelled contest.
Southern Miss (4-1) will now travel to Thibodaux, La. for a 1:00 p.m. (CT) contest against the Nicholls State Colonels (2-4) on Sunday, September 9 at E.D. White Catholic High School.
