Football Reported Thursday for 2018 Fall Camp

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – It was reporting day Thursday for the Southern Miss football program signifying the first signs of the new school year on the Golden Eagle campus.
Third-year coach Jay Hopson welcomed 110 players that will begin their journey together Friday with the team's first official practice of the fall.
The players used reporting day to move into their dorms, get last-minute measurements for playing gear and attend a team meeting.
For Southern Miss football coach Jay Hopson and his staff, it starts the process of putting together a team that will look to contend for the Conference USA championship.
"I am excited and really looking forward to watching these guys go to work tomorrow," Hopson. "We have our 110 here and it looks like we are ready to go. I am certainly excited to see the competition develop over the next month."
Forty-three letterwinners return off of last year's squad that finished 8-5 and played in its third-straight bowl game and 25th overall.
The Golden Eagles open the 2018 season Saturday, Sept. 1, at home against Jackson State in a 6 p.m., contest. Both season and single-game tickets are available for any of the six home games this season. Fans can go online at SouthernMissTickets.com to purchase seats, as well as call the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or visiting in person weekdays during normal business hours.
