Soccer hosting free youth clinic on Saturday, Aug. 11

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- A new season is on the horizon for the Southern Miss soccer program, and one of its first events of the season is a free youth clinic and fan day on Saturday, Aug. 11 at its home facility.

The event will go from 10 - 11 a.m., and boys and girls that are rising eighth-graders or younger are eligible to participate. Official schedule posters will be provided, and the coaches and student-athletes will be present to sign autographs and speak with the attendees.

Golden Eagle fans should also keep their afternoons open for the 23rd-annual Eagle Fanfare, held in the third floor of the Thad Cochran Center from 2 - 4 p.m. that Saturday, where the soccer team will also be in attendance for another meet-and-greet session with fans.

Southern Miss begins its campaign Thursday, Aug. 7 with a home exhibition versus Mississippi Valley State. The regular season opener is Thursday, Aug. 16 at Mississippi State.
