
Papp named to C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas - Conference USA's commitment to excellence on the field and in the classroom continues to show as 11 student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Conference USA Softball All-Academic Team. Ten schools are represented on the exclusive list.
Samantha Papp enjoyed an impressive season on and off the field for Southern Miss. The junior is a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member and a three-year C-USA Academic Medalist along with being on the Southern Miss President's List sporting a perfect 4.0 GPA. She is a member of the Honor's College while studying Special Education.
Papp ranked fourth on the team in overall batting average with a .285 and second best in C-USA play with a .313 average. She ranked second on the team in multi-hit games with 10 and 6 multi-RBI games while leading the team in hits (51), RBI (28), total bases (71) and at bats (179). In C-USA play she led the team in hits (26) and doubles (6). The junior is one of two players to start all 55 games, 54 of those behind the plate.
