
Tseng Named to C-USA All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas – Conference USA continues its commitment on and off the tennis court as 12 men's and women's tennis student-athletes have been named to the 2018 InTouch Credit Union Tennis All-Academic Team including Southern Miss senior, Wen-Po Tseng. Honorees are voted on by the league's sport information directors for tennis and must hold a minimum 3.2 GPA and have competed in at least 75 percent of their team's scheduled matches.
Tseng was named to 2016 All-Academic Team, as well as being a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient, and the Southern Miss' Dean's List, President's List and AD Honor Roll honoree. Tseng graduated in December 2017 with a 3.725 GPA in accounting and is currently enrolled in graduate school. The Taiwan native is 15-0 in singles play for the Golden Eagles and 12-2 in doubles.
The men's side also saw two repeat selections from last year and one from the 2016 season, including three-time honoree Miguel Negre Fernandez from Middle Tennessee. Negre Fernandez maintains a 3.914 GPA in mechatronics engineering/mathematics and management.
Florida Atlantic placed two on the 2018 InTouch Credit Union Men's Tennis All-Academic Team, with juniors Gabriel Sidney and Remi Chancerel. Sidney has a 3.7 in marketing and is ranked No. 66 with his doubles partner Chancerel, they have 10 wins this season, including one over the No. 8 duo from Georgia. Chancerel is majoring in international business and has a 3.34 GPA. The Londrina, Brazil, native has five wins in the No. 1 singles spot for the Owls.
Adam Moundir of Old Dominion earned a repeat selection to the men's all-academic team with a 3.33 GPA in management and marketing (double major), and has been named to the Dean's List (2015), C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll (2015-2018) and earned the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal (2015). Moundir went 11-6 in the No. 1 singles spot for No. 33 Old Dominion and is ranked No. 66 in doubles, with partner Aziz Kijametovic.
Rounding out the men's team is Rice redshirt sophomore Eric Rutledge, boasting a 3.68 GPA in sport management, managerial studies and economics with a business minor. Rutledge received the 2017 ITA Men's Scholar Athlete Award and was named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll in 2017 and 2018. He played all but two matches in No. 1 singles and owns a 12-6 record in that spot.
