HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's basketball team begins its week of road games with a 5 p.m. tangle with North Texas Thursday evening. The meeting in Denton will be just the be the fourth all-time meeting between the two teams at the Super Pit
The Mean Green, coming off a 65-51 win at FAU, own a similar overall season to the Lady Eagles, 13-10, but the Black and Gold hold a two game advantage compared to North Texas' 4-7 conference record.
North Texas is paced in points and rebounds by redshirt junior Terriell Bradley and the Lady Eagle defense will need to slow her 18.9 point per game average to walk away with the first win in Denton County since 2014, the first time these institutions met.
Southern Miss' hot hand, Jayla King, has accumulated 926 points in her Southern Miss career thus far and needs to score at least 12.3 points in each of the remaining six contests to pass the millennial mark.
Fans can watch the games on CUSA.TV or listen to Josh West on the broadcast via The Score 1400 AM or the Southern Miss Game Day App starting 30 minutes before tipoff.
