Women's Tennis Slated for Three Matches

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's tennis hosts three teams this weekend to compete in its first home matches after last weekend's matches were postponed due to rain.
Alabama State travels to Hattiesburg for an early match tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. The Golden Eagles are slated for a double header with Mississippi Valley State at 10 a.m. and West Alabama at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Scouting the Opponents:
The Lady Hornets of Alabama State (0-1) began the season with a 6-1 home loss to Mercer. Alabama State saw the same weather and postponed its scheduled match against Georgia Southern due to weather.
Mississippi Valley State features a young squad with six underclassmen and just one senior and graduate transfer.
West Alabama's match in Hattiesburg is the Tigers' first match of the season.
Highlighting Southern Miss:
After a 1-1 weekend in Fort Worth, Tjasa Jerse leads the team with a win in singles and doubles. Jerse competed on court 3 and won in straight set (6-4, 6-0).
