Picasso Nelson, Jr. Named to C-USA's Football All-Academic Team

IRVING, Texas -- Southern Miss senior defensive back Picasso Nelson, Jr. continued to build his lengthy resume with a place on the 2018 InTouch Credit Union C-USA Football All-Academic Team, the third-such honor of his career.
Named 2017 Southern Miss Male Best Citizen of the Year, Nelson Jr. holds a 3.94 GPA while earning his master's in business administration. The graduate student is heavily involved on campus, as the Vice President of Alumni Relations and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi.Â
Nelson Jr. is the Golden Eagles' leading tackler with 59 stops, including 4 1/2 for loss. He also has an interception.
Southern Miss concluded its regular season with a 6-5 record, the fourth consecutive year and 22nd time in 25 seasons it has been bowl-eligible.
