HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's basketball team has been announced as one of eight participants in the 2019 Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis, held on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
The tournament, which will take place in late November, will also include Alabama, Gonzaga, Iowa State, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon and Seton Hall. More information about pairings, brackets and ticket packages will be announced at a later date.
"I am happy for our players to get the opportunity to play in such a great tournament against schools with great basketball tradition," head coach Doc Sadler said. "It should be a great event for our fans to go watch, just all work for the coach."
The Golden Eagles also stayed in the same resort in August 2017, as they played in three practice games during their preseason tour. This also marks the fourth consecutive year the team has had a tropical getaway, playing in the 2016 Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic and 2018 Cancun Challenge.
Southern Miss (4-1) begins a four-game homestand Sunday at 2 p.m. against William Carey.
