
Southern Miss Soccer Inks Three Future Golden Eagles on National Signing Day

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's soccer program added three new Golden Eagles to the program on National Signing Day.

Madisyn Flammia, Hailey Rogers, and Chantae Blackwood each signed a National Letter of Intent with Southern Miss on Wednesday.

Flammia, a native of Panama City, Fla. was the first of the three to ink with the Golden Eagles. She currently attends A. Crawford Mosley High School (Panama City, Fla.) where she is a highly decorated center back and holding midfielder.

A four-year starter at A. Crawford Mosley High School, Flammia was a National President's Cup Runner Up in 2012, a four-time ECNL Discovery Player, and a two-time All-County selection. She received A. Crawford Mosley High School's Best Midfielder Award twice during her high school career. She led A. Crawford Mosley's girl's soccer team to three District Championships and was named a Top Drawer Player to Watch (ECNL Phoenix).

Flammia earned a spot on the ODP State team five times over the course of her career and she was a ODP regional pool candidate. She played her club soccer for Atlanta Fire United. Flammia excels in the classroom as well, earning A. Crawford Mosley High School's Highest GPA Award three times in her career.

"Madi exemplifies what a true student-athlete should be. She is an extremely intelligent student who will be enrolled in the Southern Miss Honors College. On the field, she is highly cerebral with great positional awareness. With Madi's addition, I am looking forward to us being able to adapt as a team to different situations."

Rogers was the second signee of the 2019 class to ink with the Golden Eagles. The Memphis, Tenn. native currently attends Evangelical Christian High School (Cordova, Tenn.) where she is a top-notch defender.

Rogers has seen major success on the pitch throughout her high school career. She has started all four years on an ECHS squad that has won four state titles in girl's soccer. She is an All-Region and All-District Team selection a Regional Runner-up. She played her club soccer for Lobos Rush.

"Hailey is a blue collar, gritty, aggressive young lady who is comfortable playing both flanks of the field. Her high aerobic capacity and ability going forward will provide more creativity to our attack. I am looking forward to her making the transition to the college game very quickly."

Blackwood was the final incoming freshman signee of Mohammed El-Zare's 2019 class. She hails from North Lauderdale, Fla. and attends Blanche Ely High School (Pompano Beach, Fla.). Blackwood plays the center back and outside back positions.

Like Flammia and Rogers, she started all four years for her varsity team. She participated in the Disney Tournament in 2013 and the ODP Alabama Regional Tournament in 2018. She played her club soccer for Prime FC.
