Sarah Bell Snags Academic All-Conference Honors

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss senior Sarah Bell has been named to the C-USA Academic All-Conference Team for the third consecutive season.Â
On Oct. 16, Bell became the all-time career assists leader in Southern Miss history when she recorded her 4,757 career assist in the first set against Alabama State. The San Antonio, Texas, natives 5,171 career assists are the second-most of all active NCAA Division I setters. Bell currently has 33, 50-assist games in her career.
In the classroom, Bell boasts a 3.97 GPA in Biological Sciences.Â
Statistically, one of Bell's best outings came last week against LA Tech. The senior recorded 53 assists, five kills, 18 digs, one service ace and a block. Against ECU, Bell recorded 41 assists in a three-set sweep, marking her most efficient game of the season. Against Rice, the C-USA regular season champions, she recorded a career-high 29 digs in a five-set defeat and also added 51 helpers.Â
Bell and the Golden Eagles (16-14, 7-7 C-USA) will hit the road on Wednesday as they travel to the C-USA Championships. They are slated to play No. 2 WKU (20-9, 11-3 C-USA) on Friday at 5 p.m. (ET). The game will be streamed on ESPN3.Â
