
Men's Tennis Win Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Golden Eagle men's tennis team won the Southern Miss Invitational after a combined 19 victories this weekend in both singles and doubles matches.
The Golden Eagles started Day Two of the invitational in doubles action with a sweep against UAB and two wins against South Alabama. Courts 1 and 3 went undefeated in doubles play. Wen-Po Tseng and Chun Tsai Han went 3-0 this weekend on court 1.
Teeradon Tortrakul and Mikhail Esipov went 2-0 on court 3 Saturday. A 6-4 win against UAB and a 6-3 win against USA gave the Golden Eagles 16 wins heading into singles play against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Tortrakul played his first match on court 2 of the Invitational and defeated his opponent, 4-6, 6-1, 10-4. Tortrakul went undefeated in singles play beating his first two opponents in straight sets.
Tseng and Mikhail earned the last two wins for the Golden Eagles to defeat ULL 3-2.
Golden Eagles travel to Lafayette Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 for the Battle on the Bayou tournament held by Louisiana-Lafayette.
