Getting to Know the 2017-18 Lady Eagles: Molly Brown

HATTIESBURG, Miss -- It is no secret that Southern Miss Women's Basketball is looking for scorers this year. The Lady Eagles are looking to make up more than half their scoring from last season due to the loss of Brittanny Dinkins, Lashyra Cotton and others.
In steps Molly Brown. Brown, who transferred in last year from South Georgia Technical College, has the potential to provide a roll at guard that Southern Miss will need. The Georgia native appeared in 14 games during last year's campaign and is more confident now that she has a year of familiarity to work off of.
"I have a lot more confidence with a year under my belt," Brown said. "My confidence is definitely boosted. With that, I can be more aggressive and play my game more."
Brown also feels a sense of urgency to work harder since it is her senior year and not take anything for granted.
"[Being a senior year] gives you more of a reason to play," Brown said. "It reminds you of when you first started because you think about something and you remember the whole journey. It gives me a new outlook on it because it's now or never. I've played basketball since I was six-years old for moments like this."
Tickets for the upcoming season can be purchased online at SouthernMissTickets.com, or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) as well as visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Center.
