Soccer to Host Fan Day and Clinic on Aug. 12

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- August has finally come for the Southern Miss soccer program, and one of its first events of the season is a free youth clinic and fan day on Saturday, Aug. 12 at its home facility.
The event will go from 9 - 10:30 a.m., and boys and girls that are rising eighth-graders or younger are eligible to participate. Official schedule posters will be provided, and the coaches and student-athletes will be present to sign autographs and speak with the attendees.
Golden Eagle fans should also keep their afternoons open for the 22nd-annual Eagle Fanfare, this time held in the third floor of the Thad Cochran Center from 2 - 4 p.m. that Saturday. The soccer team will join football and volleyball at separate autograph tables as a final rally for the fall season.
The soccer team begins its campaign Thursday, Aug. 10 with a home exhibition versus Southeastern Louisiana. The regular season opener is Friday, Aug. 18, when the Golden Eagles host Nicholls at 4 p.m.
