Southern Miss Earns No. 3 Seed in C-USA Tournament

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss Women's Basketball team will enter the 2017 Conference USA Women's Basketball Championship, presented by MetroPCS, as the No. 3 seed and will see the winner of No. 6 seed Old Dominion and No. 11 seed UTEP on Thursday, March 9 at 9 p.m. CT.
The Lady Eagles have qualified for the C-USA Tournament for the twelfth straight year and this is the third year in program history that the team has grabbed the No. 3 seed. Southern Miss has reached the championship game in two of the past three seasons.
In post season play, Southern Miss last saw UTEP and Old Dominion during the 2014 C-USA Tournament. The Lady Eagles defeated Old Dominion 83-64 in their opening round game and then handed UTEP an 84-70 loss in the next round.
The quarterfinal game, played at Bartow Arena, will be streamed on Campus Insiders. The following rounds, both held in Legacy Arena, will be shown on the American Sports Network and CBS Sports, respectively.
Starting 30 minutes before tip, Lady Eagle fans can also hear Josh West on the radio broadcast for the game on WFOR 1400 AM.
