
Block to Represent C-USA in NCAA Forum

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Senior softball player Danielle Block has been selected to represent Conference USA at the 2016-17 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum in Baltimore, Maryland from Nov. 10-13.
The forum includes student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators. The student-athletes will gather leadership skills, experience the relationship of personal values, core beliefs and behavioral styles, get an understanding of the NCAA as a whole and understand the valuable role of Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC).
Block serves as the Southern Miss SAAC President in her second year involved with C-USA SAAC. Along with her work with SAAC, Block is highly involved with the Hattiesburg community. Block volunteers with the Special Olympics, youth softball programs and campus organizations such as One Shirt, One Body.
Despite being involved with so many organizations and the softball team, she maintains a 3.93 GPA, majoring in biology. Block's a two-time C-USA Commissioner Academic Medalist and Honor Roll member.
Block not only excels in the community and the classroom but also on the diamond. Block was second on the team for ERA (4.05) and appearances (30) last season.
Block will also be joined by Aron Taylor (UTSA), Caitlin Callaghan (UAB) and Lamarr Pottinger (Old Dominion) in Maryland.
