Soccer Adds Pair of Signees

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Head coach Mohammed El-Zare announced two additions to the 2015 Southern Miss soccer team. The Golden Eagles add Aisa Ribbens and Katie Richmond to the signing class.
Ribbens attended Helen Parkhurst School in Almere, Netherlands. She played club soccer with Almeerse Sport Club Waterwijk (ASCW) of the Hoofdklasse A League. Ribbens helped the team win the Holland Cup. She was selected by the team as the team captain. In addition, Ribbens was a member of the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) Training Center. She also attended Ajax Camp in 2013.
"Aisa is an outstanding communicator who has the ability to transmit her game intelligence to everyone around her, which will provide consistency to our squad performance."
Richmond was a member of the Florida's 2013 SEC Championship women's soccer team. In high school, Richmond played soccer at Pensacola Catholic High School in Pensacola, Fla. She was a four-year starter for the Crusaders at forward. Richmond helped PCHS reached 2013 Florida High School Athletic Association Class 2A State Semifinal and 2010 3A State Semifinal. She was named 2013 Pensacola News Journal Player of the Year. Richmond was tabbed First Team All-State, All-District and All-Area as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior. She was named 2013 Soccer Senior Scholar-Athlete award recipient from Pensacola Sports Association. Richmond played club ball with Clearwater Chargers, Women's Premier Soccer League Pensacola and Dallas Texans of Florida, helping the Texans win the 2012 WPSL Southeast Conference and National Championship. In addition, she was a member of Olympic Development Program (ODP) A Team in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and an ODP Region III pool selection in 2010. Off the field, Richmond is an honor student.
