Basketball Hosts North Dakota State on Sunday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss basketball team will host North Dakota State on Sunday afternoon at Reed Green Coliseum. The game is part of a doubleheader with the women's team as the Lady Eagles host South Alabama. The Lady Eagles tipoff against the Jaguars at 2:00 p.m. and the men's basketball team is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
The game will be "Basketball Campers Reunion Day". Campers from the men's basketball camp earlier this season can redeem voucher at the ticket office for a free ticket. In addition, the first 500 fans in attendance will get a free hamburger.
Southern Miss will be playing its fourth game in nine days as they host North Dakota State (5-2). The game will be the last game before finals and the Golden Eagles will not resume play until Monday, Dec. 14 at South Alabama. The Bison enter the game after defeating Arkansas State (W, 74-73) on Friday night in Jonesboro, Ark.
The Golden Eagles enter the game 0-6 overall, coming off of a heart-breaking loss at home to Alabama, 58-55. Southern Miss had a pair of looks with under five seconds on the clock to tie the game, but had the potential game-tying buzzer beater rim out.
The last time out, Southern Miss recorded a season-best 11 three-pointers made in the game. The Golden Eagles had seven triples in the first half and tied the previous high of nine three-balls early in the second half.
The game will be the third time the two teams have met on the hardwood. The Golden Eagles own a pair of victories in the series. Southern Miss won the first meeting in 2013 in Fargo, N.D., edging North Dakota State 70-69. Last season, the two teams met in Hattiesburg with the Golden Eagles notching a 78-65 victory.
