Getting to Know ... Brittny Norris

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The countdown continues toward the season opener for the Lady Eagle basketball team and with just 11 days away, junior college transfer Brittny Norris will be the featured player.
Norris will add depth to the backcourt. She has excellent long range shooting. She runs the floor well with good speed and quickness. She is very athletic and a solid defender.
Norris attended Tyler Junior College where she played for Trenia Tillis-Jones. She averaged 17.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while earning WBCA All-American Honorable mention honors. She was tabbed the PSN Network Player of the Year, First Team All-Region XIV and First Team All-Southwest Junior College Conference. Norris helped Tyler Junior College team to a 59-11 record over two seasons and two NJCAA National Tournament appearances. She led the region in scoring, second in three-point field goals made and first in three-point field goal percentage.
As a standout high school player, Norris was a three-year letterwinner at North Forney High School before finishing her career at Bishop Lynch High School where she averaged 15.0 points and 5.3 rebounds as a senior. She earned all-State TABC Private 5A, TAPPS 5A All-State and all-district honors. She was named the Offensive Player of the Year TAPPS. She was a member of the 2013 14th Annual Texas Round-Up All-Star Team. Norris was a two time team MVP. She also lettered in volleyball and track and field.
She is the daughter of Fred and Kimberly Norris and plays to major in exercise science.
