
Golden Eagle Flyby with Stephany Purdue

This week's Golden Eagle Flyby features junior outside hitter Stephany Purdue of the volleyball team as we sat down to share a few tidbits about her. She is a sports management major from Mesa, Arizona, who recently became the 17th player to reach the 1,000-killl plateau after recording 17 against UAB (10/4). Purdue has received Co-Offensive Player of the Week two times this season. She leads the team in kills, ranking fourth in kills among the C-USA leaders.
Purdue has totaled seven double-doubles with kills and digs. She has recorded double-digit kills in all but one match thus far including five matches with 20 or more.
Q: Describe your hometown.
SP: Mesa is a suburb area in the east valley of Arizona.
Q: How did you manage to get into your sport?
SP: Two of my older sisters played volleyball. I wanted to follow in their footsteps and play as well.
SP: Me preferred temperature is 68.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
Q: Where would you want to go on a vacation if money was no option?
SP: My ideal vacation would be to go to Greece.
Q: If you could choose a super power, what would it be? Why?
SP: I would want to be able to breathe under water because I like to swim.
