Tons of Promotions Set for Homecoming this Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -
It's homecoming week on the Southern Miss campus as the Golden Eagles return home to entertain Conference USA foe UTSA this Saturday, Oct. 17, at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
The theme for this year's homecoming tilt is "Golden Eagles All In" and the weekend's festivities begin with Friday Night at The Fountain, at 8:30 p.m., on the Golden Eagle campus.
On game day, promotions surrounding the contest include the Cheerleader for A Day clinic for girls ages 4 to 8th grade, which will include learning a cheer with the Golden Eagle cheerleaders, walking in Eagle Walk and a performance on the field prior to the game. In addition, it will be Mississippi Youth Football Day and teams are asked to call the Southern Miss Athletic Ticket Office (1-800-844-8425) to sign up and register their respective teams.
Prior to the game, Congressman Steven Palazzo will flip the coin during the pregame captain's meeting, while at halftime, the 2016 Class of the Southern Miss Alumni Association Hall of Fame will be announced which will include former Golden Eagle quarterback Brett Favre, Jim Borsig, Todd Buchanan, Tom "Bones" Malone, Gail C. Megason, Andy Mercier and Gilbert C. Van Loon.
In addition, the reigning Miss Mississippi, Hannah Roberts, will be recognized during the game, as well as signing autographs during a meet and greet at the Ogletree Alumni House from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Also being acknowledged during the game will be two-time Golden Eagle NCAA national champion, Tori Bowie, who ranks currently as one of the fastest women in the world in the 100 meters.
The Department of Athletics will also remember and recognize the life of entrepreneur Gene Carlisle, a Southern Miss graduate and Golden Eagle supporter, whose school's football field is named in his honor.
The Pat Ferlise Ticket Office will open at 10 a.m., until 2:30 p.m., before moving over to the Roberts Stadium Ticket Office located on the southwest corner of the facility, in which they will be open from 3 p.m., until halftime of the game.
All fans are encouraged to wear Gold for this game.
