Men's Hoops Hosts Spring Hill in Homestand Finale

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss closes its homestand this Saturday, Dec. 13, when it hosts Spring Hill. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
Southern Miss and Spring Hill will meet for the 68th time in their history, tied for the fourth most in Southern Miss history, in a series that dates back to 1938. Southern Miss holds a 50-17 record. The 50 wins are the most against any opponent. In Hattiesburg, the Golden Eagles hold a 33-5 record. Southern Miss has won the last 18 meetings, the longest winning streak against one opponent in Southern Miss history.
Southern Miss enters tonight's game with a 4-3 record. Forward Matt Bingaya leads the Golden Eagles with 15.9 points, which is tied for third in Conference USA. He is also averaging a team-high 5.1 rebounds per game and is connecting on 50.0% from the floor.
Forward Norville Carey is second on the team with 10.1 points and 4.6 rebounds. He leads the league in field goal percentage, hitting 67.5% from the floor and is seventh in blocks (1.1). Guard Chip Armelin is averaging 9.9 points. Guard Rasham Suarez is scoring 6.1 points and is seventh in C-USA in both assists (3.7) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.9).
The Golden Eagles are scoring 64.3 points a game but are allowing 67.4. Southern Miss is connecting on 45.7% from the floor, good for second in the conference, and 32.1% from three while allowing 46.7% from the field and 35.3% from beyond the arc. The Black and Gold is also being outrebounded, 33.0-to-28.9.
Sadler enters his first season at the helm of the Southern Miss men's basketball program. He has compiled a 153-110 (.582) record in nine years as a head coach.
