HATTIEBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team enjoyed a sunny late fall afternoon for its final Wednesday football practice of 2014 here at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
The Golden Eagles worked out in shoulder pads and shorts for the two and a half hour practice session as they continue to prepare for Conference USA rival UAB this weekend at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium.
Southern Miss continued to work on its game plan for the Blazers as the program gets ready for Senior Day at The Rock this Saturday at The Rock.
The team was slated to return to practice Thanksgiving morning, before coach Todd Monken was going to release them for the rest of the day and have them not return until a final Friday afternoon walkthrough.
"We have morning practice tomorrow and then some of the guys are going to go home," said Monken. "Some of them are going to come over to the coaches' houses. We will get back here Friday to finish getting ready for UAB."
Kickoff for the game against the Blazers is slated for 2:30 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online at SouthernMissTickets.com. Fans can also purchase tickets in person Friday from 2-6 p.m., at the Reed Green Coliseum Ticket Office.
The Black Friday sale of $5 upper deck tickets for the UAB is still available until 11:59 p.m., Friday night.
