Taylor Gibson is one of nine incoming freshmen for the Golden Eagles. She is a native of Guntersville, Ala., where she played high school volleyball at Guntersville High School. While at Guntersville High School, Gibson was a setter and amassed over 5,800 career assists. She led her team to three straight state titles while earning all-state accolades.

Why Southern Miss? I fell in love with the campus and the atmosphere. The people are so nice and I just felt welcome.

If I wasn't playing college volleyball, I would probably be focusing on school and just getting my degree.

Career plans: graduate with a bachelors in nursing then go back in a few years and get my masters

The best thing about Hattiesburg is there are a lot of things to do.
My favorite thing about Southern Miss volleyball is that everyone gets along.
