Men's Tennis Team Jumps Into National Rankings

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's tennis team received its first ranking since 2009 as the Golden Eagles entered the Campbell/ITA Team Rankings at No. 66.
The Freshman-laden team is currently 7-5 on the year, having played six nationally ranked teams. Andrew Goodwin owns the top record with a 10-2 record while Matt Frost is next at 7-4. Goodwin has won his last seven matches while Frost his last three.
Goodwin teams with Michael Elortegui in doubles and the duo own a 9-2 record including winning their last seven matches.
Southern Miss is one of six Conference USA schools that are ranked in the top 75 teams in the country.
The Golden Eagles will travel to UT-Arlington on Mar. 14, SMU on Mar. 15, and then play No. 62 Wichita State on Mar. 17 in Fayetteville, Ark., and No. 36 Arkansas on Mar. 18.
