Conference USA Announces Louisiana Tech Game Time

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Conference USA has announced that the Southern Miss football season opener against Louisiana Tech will start at 9 p.m., at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium on Sept. 3, to accommodate national television coverage.
The game will be the Golden Eagles' lone Fox Sports Network contest for the 2011 campaign. The league signed a five-year deal in January with the television network to broadcast games.
"While we realize that a 9 p.m., starting time is not ideal, we are happy with the fact that it is Labor Day weekend and our fans can kickoff the holiday weekend on the Golden Eagle campus," said Southern Miss Director of Athletics Richard Giannini. "Golden Eagle fans are known throughout the nation as being some of the most passionate fans in college football and we expect another great showing from our fans."
Special events and promotions are being planned for the home opener and will be released in the coming months.

Single game tickets will go on sale Monday, Aug. 1, online and over the phone.
