Soccer Names Forester to Soccer Coaching Staff

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - University of Southern Mississippi head soccer coach Scott Ebke announced today the addition of Megan Forester as an assistant coach for the Southern Miss soccer program. The hiring is subject to approval by the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.
Forester comes to the Golden Eagles after spending the last year as a volunteer assistant with Vanderbilt University while working on her master's degree at Lipscomb. At Vanderbilt, she assisted the coaches in day-to-day activities including budgeting and preparing training.
Forester also coached a U10 Girls club team while also providing private instruction as a private trainer.
Forester was a standout player at Vanderbilt where she was a four-year letterwinner. While there, she earned first Team All-SEC as a senior, third-team All-Region and received the SEC Community Service Award. Forester was voted her team's captain in 2008 and 2009. She finished her career with six goals, 11 assists and 23 points while playing in 73 games.
The Hendersonville, Tenn., native was a NSCAA High School All-American in 2005 while earning Middle Tennessee Division II Player of the Year in 2005 and 2003 for helping lead the Pope John Paul II Knights to the DII Championships. She was an all-State midfielder in 2003, 2004, and 2005. Her high school ranked No. 1 in the NSCAA/Adidas national high school rankings in 2005. She was named the Gallatin News Examiner's 2005 County Player of the Year and The Tennessean's 2005 Player of the Year.
Forester received her bachelor's degree in Human and Organizational Development in 2010. She is the daughter of Michael and Robin Forester.
