Volleyball's Seymour Adds Another Honor

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Senior setter Kelsea Seymour received another honor at the conclusion of the 2011 volleyball season, earning AVCA Division I Honorable Mention All-America honors.
For the third consecutive season, Seymour earned AVCA Division I Honorable Mention All-America accolades. Seymour was one of seven Conference USA players receiving the honor as the league also added a second team All-America honoree in Tyler Henderson of Tulsa and a third team honoree in Lucy Charuk of Houston.
Seymour played and started all 32 matches while tallying 1,324 assists, 101 kills, 370 digs, 13 aces and 36 total blocks this season. She closed out her collegiate career earning Conference USA Setter of the Year honors.
The Long Beach, Calif., native averaged 11.32 assists per set and was a three-time All-C-USA first team selection and a two-time All-Midwest Region honoree for the Golden Eagles. Seymour was named Setter of the Week 10 times in her career including three times this season. She was twice named to the C-USA All-Academic Team. Seymour is one of only two setters at Southern Miss to surpass the 4,500 assist mark. She became a member of the 1,000-dig club at USM and finished with 1,223 career digs.
