HATTIESBURG, Miss. - With Conference USA rival UCF coming to town on Saturday, the No. 22 Southern Miss Golden Eagles practiced under the lights of the Joe P. Park Practice facility ahead of the critical C-USA showdown.
As they worked through their final day of installation, the Golden Eagles maintained their high energy level which has become the norm around the facility.
"(Today) was very good," said coach Larry Fedora. "It was better than yesterday. The energy level of this football team right now is really good. They're having fun out there practicing and having a good time."
When questioned by the media, Fedora was unable to pinpoint a time when he left the field unimpressed by his teams' attitude.
"I've tried thinking of the last time that I wasn't really happy with (a practice)," Fedora added. "That was a long, long time ago."
The matchup between East division rivals will be the "Military Appreciation Game," allowing members of the Armed Forces (active, reserved or retired) to purchase tickets for just $5. This offer can be obtained by showing a valid military ID at the Athletics Ticket Office inside the Pat Ferlisle Center or on game day.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. as the No. 22 Golden Eagles (8-1, 4-1 C-USA) take on reigning C-USA East Division champion UCF (4-5, 2-2 C-USA).
