- Team captains for today's game were #36 Bruce Johnson, #1 Tracey Lampley, #56 Ronnie Thornton and #16 Alex Smith.
- The 21 points scored in the first quarter were the most the Golden Eagles have scored in the first quarter this season. They are now outscoring opponents 96-44 in the initial quarter.
- Announced attendance was 50,345.
- The 38 points in the first half were the most by the Golden Eagles in a half this season.
- Southern Miss is now 27-10 in the all-time series with ECU and 16-3 in Greenville.
- The Golden Eagles' 48 points are the most ever scored by Southern Miss in Greenville.
- The 8-1 start is the best start for a Southern Miss squad since 1996.
Offensive Notes
- Jamal Woodyard's second quarter touchdown reception was the second of his career.
- Desmond Johnson returned to action for the first time since the opener against Louisiana Tech with a seven yard run in the second quarter. He got his first touchdown of the season in the third quarter.
- With Woodyard's touchdown catch, Austin Davis tied UAB's Darrell Hackney for 11th place in conference history with 71 touchdown passes.
- Davis also passed Memphis' Danny Wimprine for 8th place in Total Offense with 10,783 yards.
- Davis is also now sixth all-time in passing completions with 842, passing Rice's Chase Clement.
Defensive Notes
- ECU's 74-yard touchdown completion was the longest play allowed by the Golden Eagles all year.
- ECU's 7-0 lead was the first time the Golden Eagles have trailed since the first quarter against Rice on Oct. 1.
- Jamie Collins' interception return for a touchdown was the longest interception return in Southern Miss history and his first of the season and third career touchdown.
- Collins also returned an interception for a touchdown last year against ECU.
- It was the sixth non-offensive touchdown of the season and 14th of the Fedora era.
- Deron Wilson's 79-yard second quarter interception return was his first pick-six and second interception of the year.
- It was the third non-offensive touchdown of the day, eighth of the season and 16th in the Fedora era.
- Ronnie Thornton forced his fifth career fumble and first of the season in the third quarter.
- Cordarro Law added 1.5 sacks on the night to TCU's Bo Schobel for 12th place all-time in conference history with 25.
Special Teams Notes
- Tracey Lampley's 60-yard punt return touchdown was the second of his career.
- Reggie Hunt blocked his second career punt and Emmanuel Johnson returned it 15 yards for a touchdown.
- It was the second non-offensive touchdown of the day, seventh of the season and 15th in the Fedora era.
- It was also the first blocked punt returned for a score since Deron Wilson's seven yard return against Kansas on Sept. 17, 2010.
- Danny Hrapmann connected on a 23-yard to give him 42 for his career, passing Steve Clark on the school's all-time chart.
- Tracey Lampley passed Tulane's John Wilson for seventh in career punt return yards with 696.
