Volleyball Travels to Tulsa for Pair of Matches

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss volleyball team (7-9, 1-3) travels to Tulsa for a pair of Conference USA matches with the Golden Hurricane.
The Golden Eagles are coming off a split weekend in which USM topped Memphis in three games, but dropped a four-setter to UAB.
Halie Ecker continues to lead the team with a 3.05 kill per set average while Lauren Sears and Ashley Mell are close behind at 2.12 and 2.70 kill per set, respectively. Kelsea Seymour is averaging 10.14 assists per set and Lisa Knecht heads the defense with 4.90 digs per set. Sears has a team leading 58 total blocks and leads the team with 19 aces. As a team, USM is averaging 12.77 kills per set, 17.90 digs per set and 1.98 blocks per set.
Tulsa (15-3, 4-1) is coming off a 3-1 loss to Rice on Wednesday. As a team, the Hurricane is averaging 14.38 kills per set, 1.36 aces per set, 15.42 digs per set and 1.23 blocks per set. Tyler Henderson paces the Hurricane with a 4.83 kill per set on a .350 attack percentage. Diana Silva is next on the team with a 3.11 kill per set average. Jordan Clampitt and Bailey Clampitt combine to dish out 13.47 assists per set. Jessica Adams leads the team defensively with 4.73 digs per set.
Southern Miss returns home to host East Carolina on Oct. 14 and Marshall on Oct. 15. The ECU match is set for a 7 p.m. first serve while the Sunday match against Marshall will be at 1 p.m.
