HATTIESBURG, Miss. - With their final non-conference game of the season looming on Saturday, Southern Miss worked through their Wednesday practice in spirited fashion at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
The tone of the week has been "assignment discipline" as the defense prepares to face Navy's triple-option attack. For coach Larry Fedora, the time to talk is just about over.
"It's a difficult offense (to face). That's just the way it is," said Fedora. "Whatever it is though - we're going to play on Saturday. It's going old talking about it to be honest with you."
Wednesday's two-plus hour session was as anticipated for the fourth-year coach as the Golden Eagles continue to familiarize themselves with the Midshipmen.
"(Today's practice) was better than yesterday. Just like you would expect," added Fedora. "It's the second day of seeing it so guys are feeling more and more comfortable. Tomorrow is a polish day and we should be even better tomorrow."
Saturday's game is scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. CT kickoff from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis. The game will be broadcast on the CBS Sports Network (Ch. 393 HD/793 on Comcast, 152 on Dish Network and 613 on DirecTV).
