Conference USA Announces Volleyball Preseason All-Conference Selections

The defending C-USA regular season champion, Southern Miss sports two All-C-USA preseason players in Ashley Mell and Kelsea Seymour. The pair led the Eagles to the program's first conference regular season title and an overall record of 27-5. The duo were named to the 2009 All-C-USA first team and AVCA All-Midwest Region honorable mention list.
Seymour, Co-C-USA Setter of the Year in 2009, finished fourth in assists per set (10.49) and ended the season with a league-best 21 double-doubles and dished out a season-high 60 assists twice (vs. UCF and Rice). Mell concluded last season ranked 10th in the league with a team-best 3.37 kills per set. She posted 14 double-doubles and was named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week twice.
Tulsa's Tyler Henderson has been tabbed the Conference USA 2010 Preseason Player of the Year. Tulsa and Rice each sport three preseason players, while Southern Miss touts two. Houston, Marshall, Memphis and SMU each placed one on the preseason team.
