Women's Soccer Enjoys Strong Spring Semester in the Classroom

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Although they weren't in season during the spring semester, the Southern Miss women's soccer continued to shine in the classroom.
All 21 active members of the soccer squad finished the semester by accumulating a 3.0 grade point average or better including six members of the team earning President's List honors (4.0 GPA) and six earning Dean's List (3.5 GPA or better).
"We are extremely pleased with the success that our women's soccer program has shown in the classroom as they have continued to strive each and every semester," Southern Miss Director of Athletics Richard Giannini said about the team's academic accomplishments. "We appreciate the work of our academic enhancement staff along with our coaches. Coach Scott Ebke has done a wonderful job overseeing this program both on and off the field and we look forward that continuance in the future."
Soccer players Holly Cox (London, England), Amy Davis (Vestavia Hill, Ala.), Keilah Hopkins (Irving, Texas), Caitlin Leumas (Mandeville, La.), Elisha Tarbell (Mandeville, La.) and Kirsten Windecker (Tinley Park, Ill.) all garnered President's List honors, while Sarah Brusco (Dallas, Texas), Sarah DeFatta (Franklin, Tenn.), Liz Hamlin (Kenner, La.), Jana Mason (Tupelo, Miss.), Samantha Polley (Louisville, Ky.) and Tricia Tillman (Madison, Miss.) garnered Dean's List accolades.
Mallory Barnes (Lafayette, La.), Stefani Buller (Denton, Texas), Erin Hamrick (Lafayette, Ind.), Malinda Hill (Slidell, La.), Renee Hrapmann (Mandeville, La.), Bianca Ontiveros (Albuquerque, N.M.), Daniela Picado (Meridian, Miss.), Lindsey Schwaner (Mandeville, La.) and Hannah Vanderboegh (Pinson, Ala.), collected Dean's List nods by achieving a 3.0 GPA or better.
In the last 11 years, the soccer team has achieved a 3.0 or better grade point average with the 3.51 GPA earned this semester as the highest during that span.
