Austin Davis Named to 2010 C-USA All-Academic Team

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss junior quarterback Austin Davis was one of 11 Conference USA players to earn 2010 All-Academic team honors in a vote by the 12 sports information directors and released today by the league office.
Davis, who has thrown for 2,898 yards and 18 touchdowns to go along with 436 rushing yards and 10 scores on the ground this season, led the Golden Eagles to an 8-4 record in 2010 as well as their ninth consecutive bowl appearance.
The Meridian, Miss., native is a Business Administration major, who has accumulated a 3.277 grade point average over his collegiate academic career. Davis has earned a Conference USA Academic Medal once, while also earning the C-USA Honor Roll three times. In addition, he has made the Dean's List once and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll (3.0-3.49) five times while at Southern Miss.
This is the second time Davis has garnered this honors, having earned it in 2008 as well.
