Volleyball Travels to ULM

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Golden Eagle volleyball team puts their nine-match winning streak on the line when they travel to ULM for a 7 p.m. match.
Southern Miss is coming off a 3-0 weekend in which the Golden Eagles won their second tournament of the season. Kelsea Seymour earned her second MVP award and Caitlin Clarke and Lauren Sears were named to the all-tournament team.
Southern Miss is off to its best start in school history at 10-1. Clarke leads the team offensively averaging 3.03 kills per set with an attack percentage of .245. Ashley Mell and Lauren Sears are next, averaging 2.82 and 2.38 kills respectively. Sears leads the team with an attack percentage of .317. Seymour is handing out 10.08 assists per set, while Maia Ivanova paces the defense with a 4.56 dig per set average.
ULM comes in with a 2-9 record. Mari O'Neal leads the Warhawk team with a 3.24 kill average. Christy Tribble leads the defense, averaging 3.48 digs per set while Meghan McCoy is averaging 7.08 assists per set.
Southern Miss continues its road swing traveling to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the UCF Tournament, Sept. 18-19. The Golden Eagles will face UCF in the first match of the tournament, beginning Conference USA play as well. Southern Miss will also play against Florida International and Florida A&M.
