Volleyball Kicks Off Spring Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss volleyball team kicked off its spring season by winning its first tournament.
The Golden Eagles participated in the Jackson State Tournament, posting wins over Jackson State, Southeastern Louisiana and West Alabama.
"The competition was great," Coach Ricci Luyties said. "It was good to see our team compete against other teams. Our setter did a good job of running our offense. We had solid defense. Our front row played very well and we got consistent play from our middles."
Southern Miss will compete in another spring tournament at Tulane on Saturday.
